Gender, Development and Globalization

The objective of this course is to provide students with an in-depth coverage of some of the most relevant topics associated with the relationship among gender, economicd evelopment and globalization. The topics covered include household formation, intrahousehold allocation of resources, human capital investment, labor force participation and labor market outcomes, leadership, as well as migration, trade and recent research on the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Classes are interactive. They consist of lectures, presentations and critical discussions of selected articles that are at the frontier in economic research.
