Feminism and (Anti-)Militarism
Content
This course is centered on the role of feminism in contesting and supporting militarism, war, and violent conflict. Readings will include scholarship from feminist international relations and peace and security studies; gender and sexuality studies and queer theory; and feminist decolonial and postcolonial theory. Manifestos, personal narratives and memoirs, military policy, and legal cases will serve as case studies to analyze the mobilization of feminist rhetoric to justify but also protest war and militarism.
