In this talk Erin Kaplan will present the goals, methods, and methodologies of her applied and devised theatre practices, focusing on the role of theatre as a tool for social change. Offering her own experiences creating community-engaged theatre, she will offer an introductory lesson in the practice and guide participants through sample exercises drawn from Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed.
