An LGBTQIA+ "rights revolution" in Latin America?

This issue interrogates the notion of an LGBTQIA+ "rights revolution" in Latin America. Focusing on the temporal, spatial and structural issues of the reforms, the contributions demonstrate the limits of the radicalness and inclusiveness initially sought by LGBTQIA+ populations. The analysis of right-wing homosexual movements, the conflicts within LGBTQIA+ groups, or the lack of visibility of mobilizations on the periphery of the countries are all examples illustrating the divergent identities (and interests) of LGBTQIA+ people, the power relations between the different groups, and the unequal evolution according to the countries. This issue also builds a bridge between research conducted in Europe and Latin America, with different methodological approaches, and valuing different languages of publication.
