This course provides an in-depth exploration of the complex relationship between migration, health, and equity, focusing on how migration and displacement influence health outcomes shaped by multiple factors at every stage of the migration journey. Students will gain an understanding of the social, economic, and political factors that impact health status and healthcare access for migrants and refugees. Key topics include the role of social determinants of health, common health challenges faced by migrant populations, and the systemic barriers to healthcare. Students will also engage with explanatory models and strategies to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes for displaced populations. Throughout the course, practical exercises such as case studies and simulations will enhance students' skills in health literacy, communication, and collaboration in interprofessional settings.
