Silke Schmid

Silke Schmid is a Professor in Music Education at the University of Education Freiburg and is currently Head of the Institute of Music. Prior to that, she was a deputy professor at the University of Koblenz-Landau and a Senior Researcher at the Academy of Music Basel (2011-2017). She obtained her PhD at the Goethe University Frankfurt (2013) and holds Master´s Degrees in Music Education and violin from the University of Music Stuttgart. Her recent focal points of interest include music education for social change, innovative school development, and children´s agency and well-being.
