Michalis Nikiforos has been an Associate Professor in the Department of History, Economics and Society since August 2020. His research interests include macroeconomic theory and policy, the relation between distribution of income and economic growth, political and economic fluctuations, as well as the political economy of the Eurozone.
He is also a Research Scholar at the Levy Economics Institute of Bard College in New York, and a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, the Review of Keynesian Economics and Metroeconomica.
Nikiforos holds a BA in economics and an M.Sc. in economic theory from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and an M.Phil. and a Ph.D. in economics from the New School for Social Research.
