Melina Rutishauser

Melina Rutishauser is a PhD candidate and project assistant at the Institute of Social Anthropology, University of Basel, Switzerland. Her PhD is part of the research project “Participation in Social Health Protection. An Anthropological Case Study in Tanzania” led by Prof. Dr. Brigit Obrist and funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Her PhD research aims to gain insights into the diverse forms of participation in the emergent field of social health protection in the Kilombero Valley, Tanzania. The focus lies on people's everyday engagement in saving and supporting mechanisms to protect their own and their family's health, as well as to improve their life condition.
