The international journal GAIA – Ecological Perspectives for Science and Society invites Masters students to participate in the GAIA Masters Student Paper Award. This award recognizes outstanding research from Master’s theses or research-based courses in the field of transdisciplinary environmental and sustainability science.
Each year, a jury selects one winning paper that demonstrates

relevance to important societal transformations, and/or
-
innovative approaches to inter- and transdisciplinary environmental of sustainability research.
Award Benefits
- Prize money: €1,500 (endowed by the Selbach Environmental Foundation and Dialogik gGmbH).
- One-year free subscription to GAIA, including online access.
- Potential invitation to submit the paper for publication in GAIA.
The award is presented annually at the GAIA Annual Meeting, held in spring at different locations.

Eligibility

Submissions are open to students who have completed their Master’s thesis.

Candidates must have obtained their Master’s degree no more than 18 months before the submission deadline.

We encourage submissions in English, though articles written in German will also be considered.
