Oredr deosn’t mttaer. What order for double forms: fm or mf?
Abstract
The text addresses the question of how doublets of common personal nouns are presented in inclusive writing, both in their full and in their abbreviated form. It discusses the criteria that can influence the order of the elements in these forms. The article discusses the way in which the feminine and masculine forms are presented, which may or may not take account of factors such as the relative importance of the genders or their stereotypical weight. It examines the various rules and meta-rules that may guide the choice of order of elements in double and abbreviated forms: while the first place seems particularly important in the former, the last element (governing agreements) takes precedence in the latter.
