I am a postdoctoral researcher in British literature of the long eighteenth century at UZH. I taught at the universities of Neuchâtel and Fribourg before joining Prof. Isabel Karremann’s research team in 2020.

I hold a B.A. degree in English literature from the University of Oxford and an M.A. in nineteenth-century literature from the University of York. I then returned to the University of Oxford for an M.Litt, in which I focused on the influence of eighteenth-century acting theory in Jane Austen’s fiction. I have recently been awarded my doctoral degree from the University of Neuchâtel, where I worked under the supervision of Prof. Patrick Vincent. My thesis explores the construction of British national identity in women’s writing of the Romantic period. My current research project examines representations of the female voice in eighteenth-century English and Irish literature. I work in collaboration with Prof. Karremann on the project The Feminist Enlightenment across Eighteenth-Century Europe.

My research interests include the long eighteenth-century and the long Romantic period; nineteenth-century fiction; Jane Austen; Frances Burney; Maria Edgeworth; theatrical culture; Irish literature; women’s writing and gender studies.
