Symposium on Queerness and Religion

We are pleased to invite you to a symposium that brings together civil society actors and researchers to explore how queerness and religion intersect across local, national, and transnational contexts. The symposium will take place in Malmö, Sweden, lunch‑to‑lunch, October 22-23, 2026. The first day is open to the public and centres on civil society perspectives. The second day is an academic workshop for researchers working on - or interested in working on - the intersection between queerness and religion. 

To participate in the research workshop, please submit this form by August 31, 2026. We will confirm participation by September 7, 2026. Once your participation is confirmed, you will receive venue information along with suggestions for accommodation and travel. Please note that we are not able to cover travel or accommodation expenses.
