The Diverse Europe Theme Group offers stipendiary visiting scholarships to excellent scholars who are conducting research related to diversity and Europe in the social sciences, humanities or law. Visiting scholars spend up to a month in Amsterdam, during which time they are expected to give a research seminar, a public lecture, and a PhD master class, as well as to interact with faculty and students. For a full month’s visit, ACES offers an honorarium of 6000 euros, which is intended to cover the costs of travel, accommodation, and subsistence; the honorarium is prorated for shorter visits. The visiting period is between September and December 2020.
Applicants should email the following documents to the Theme Group Leaders prof. dr. Rob van der Laarse, dr. Liza Mügge and prof. dr. Annette Schrauwen:
- A one-page cover letter containing your motivation for a research stay with the Diverse Europe Group and the desired period. Please, mention names of any ACES affiliated faculty with whom you have had contact about your proposed stay or with whom you would like to work;
- A one-page curriculum vitae;
- A one-page list with key publications;
- A two-page document containing 1) a short description of the project you will be working on 2) an outline of your ideas for a research seminar, a public lecture, and a PhD master class.
