The international summer school on gender mainstreaming and gender-based analysis provides students with the theoretical knowledge and practical training in gender-based analysis (GBA), which is increasingly being used in the public and private sectors as well as with non-governmental organizations. Given the current national and international feminist governance initiative and renewed commitment to gender and diversity-based analytical frameworks in policy development and evaluations, students with these qualifications/training can contribute to the development of policies that better address multiple sources of inequalities.
Students will have an opportunity to learn from leading gender mainstreaming scholars in Canada and abroad and will develop practical skills in high demand areas of expertise: gender-based analysis (GBA), gender-budgeting and gender-results framework. Governments, international organizations and community organizations are implementing policies that require these skills in the development of their policies.
