CAS Dealing with the Past

Learn how to design and implement effective and transformative dealing with the past processes.

The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) Dealing with the Past is designed for professionals and academics working in transitional justice and peacebuilding. The program offers a unique opportunity to learn how to better support societies emerging from violence and conflict to address their past and prepare for the future. The CAS runs from fall to fall. Participants can choose from a wide selection of courses that take place either at the cultural center kHaus in Basel or in a virtual format. The CAS equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to shape dealing with the past initiatives, such as the documentation of harm suffered, the establishment of truth commissions, or the creation of memory spaces. Participants learn and gain valuable insights from internationally-renowned experts and engage with colleagues from diverse sectors, fostering a dynamic community of professionals.
