Frau Diamanda’s Catalan Scenes, Travesti Politics of Resistance, and Anti-Canonical Knowledge.

Frau Diamanda presents her book project Catalan Scenes – a radical, poetic “sexual anti-diary” from the perspective of a travesti migrant from Peru living in Europe. Combining spoken word, live performance, and music, the piece creates an immersive atmosphere in which travestism is not simply observed, but becomes the analytical subject itself. Travestism emerges as a practice of resistance, intertwined with questions of racialization, migration, class, self-staging, and neocolonial gazes.

The event will be held in English. It is part of the Friends Events series curated by CHICHA EXPRESS, who create mythological worlds and reimagine cultural heritage in a contemporary context. Their productions speak to intergenerational and international audiences, building bridges between the Global North and South.
