The differentiation between institutions focused on enhancing equal equality and those specialised in scientific research on women and gender is not always possible. In some universities, projects aiming at promoting gender studies are carried out by institutions (usually called "equality offices") whose mission is to achieve equal opportunities for women and men. In such cases, the same institution might therefore be mentioned here as well as under the heading “Who is Who” on the “Equality” page.
