Cooperation NCCR North-South & IZFG
The overall goal of the cooperation between NCCR North-South and IZFG is toenhance the elaboration and implementation of a coherent strategy aiming at the integration of gender research into the formulation of mitigation strategies and the scientific foundations of research for sustainable development. In order to strengthen the promotion of gender sensitive research as well as assessing potential gender impacts of syndrome mitigation strategies the NCCR North-South and IZFG decided to intensify research cooperation by way of a Transversal Package Mandate (TPM).
For this purpose IZFG seeks intensive exchange with researchers and research groups already engaged or newly interested in the elucidation of the relationships between gender and sustainable development. The IZFG places emphasis on providing methodological and theoretical know-how in gender studies and giving access to, and exchange with, the wide network of contacts to related academic institutions and experts specializing in the areas of globalization, human rights and governance studies, transnational feminism and development. This is dedicated to advancing and encouraging the development of gender competence within NCCR North-South.
The electronic workspace provides relevant scientific literature as well as UN-reports and basic conceptual frameworks in the document library. In the discussion spaces papers may be placed and commented upon. Besides, activities and instruments developed in the frame of the TPM gender can be accessed through the electronic platform.
