BRIDGE has worked in partnership with Choike, based in Uruguay, to transform our Cutting Edge Pack on Gender and Care into a dynamic web-based output in Spanish, which includes resources and organisations that are specific to the Latin American context. By including regional issues, case studies and materials relevant to the theme, we are hoping to make the output more useful to the Latin American audience.
Choike is a portal dedicated to improving the visibility of the work done by NGOs and social movements from the South. It serves as a platform where citizen groups can disseminate their work and at the same time enrich it with information from diverse sources, which is presented from the perspective of Southern civil society. They are based in Uruguay, South America. Choike is currently a member of our International Advisory Committee. |

Le ROFAF est une organisation internationale non gouvernementale apolitique et à but non lucratif dont le siège est basé à Lomé dans les locaux de l'AFARD Togo. Il a été créé le 28 juillet 2006 à l'issue d'un « Programme de Formation des ONG d'Afrique Francophone sur les Stratégies de Levée de Fonds » organisé par l'Antenne du Togo de l'Association des Femmes Africaines pour la Recherche et le Développement (AFARD Togo) avec l'appui financier de l'Association pour les Droits de la Femme et le Développement (AWID).
Il a pour objectifs de

Die Frauenabteilung der Stadt Wien hat eine Website für geschlechtergerechte Sprache geschaffen:
Reicht es, "Österreicher" und "Kunden" zu schreiben, wenn damit Frauen und Männer gemeint sind? Darüber wird immer wieder diskutiert. Die Stadt Wien hat nun eine Website für geschlechtergerechte Sprache geschaffen.
Leicht gemacht werden soll das geschlechtergerechte Formulieren. "Sprache ist eines der wesentlichsten Ausdrucksmittel in unserer Gesellschaft. Sie trägt unsere Kommunikation, vermittelt Werte und Normen und ist Abbild unserer sozialen Realität. Frauen sind jedoch in unserer Sprache noch zu oft unsichtbar und unhörbar", sagte Frauenstadträtin Sonja Wehsely (SPÖ).
Daher hat die Frauenabteilung der Stadt Wien die Seite ins Leben gerufen.
Neben grundsätzlichen Überlegungen, warum geschlechtergerechte Sprache ein wichtiger Beitrag zur Gleichstellung von Frauen und Männern ist, wird auf den Seiten gezeigt, wie geschlechtergerechte Sprache im Alltag angewendet werden kann.
Den Benutzerinnen und Benutzern werden die verschiedenen Möglichkeiten des richtigen Formulierens anschaulich erklärt.
An Hand von Übungsbeispielen können sie dann selbst testen, wie "fit" sie beim geschlechterfreundlichen Formulieren bereits sind.
Eine Checkliste liefert außerdem Tipps für das Korrekturlesen von Texten. Im Glossar können Erklärungen zu Begriffen und Abkürzungen nachgelesen werden. Zudem gibt es Literaturangaben und weiterführende Links für alle, die noch mehr über geschlechtergerechte Sprache wissen wollen.
Den immer wieder gehörten Einwand, die (politische) Beschäftigung mit gendergerechter Sprache sei eine Nebensächlichkeit, lässt die Frauenstadträtin nicht gelten: "Sprache ist ein mächtiges Instrument, weil sie nicht nur die Wirklichkeit abbildet, sondern auch die Bilder der Realität in den Köpfen der Menschen prägt", so Wehsely.
